MEET THE FOUNDER
Shelina Smith founded Housing to Hope with a vision for something she believes every strong community needs: a network of people, businesses, and organizations that can connect, share resources, create opportunities, and empower one another through every season of life. Through her experiences in healthcare, nonprofit leadership, human resources, operations, and her own life, Shelina saw that communities often have people who want to help, organizations with valuable programs, businesses with opportunities, and individuals with knowledge and lived experience but they don't always have an easy way to find and connect with one another.
Housing to Hope was created to help bridge those connections.
Shelina's vision is for Housing to Hope to become a community network where members can connect with people who may benefit from resources, programs, services, experience, or support that our members provide and where people can find pathways forward when they need them.
That pathway may begin with housing, workforce development, education, independent living skills, mentorship, reentry support, leadership development, advocacy, or simply finding the right person or organization to connect with.
The starting point may be different for everyone. The network is what brings us together.
